Meet Your Future Therapist.
Sam Diamond is a queer therapist who is passionate about providing competent, affirming therapy to LGBTQ+ folx.
As a member of the queer community herself, she understands first hand how important it is to work with a mental health provider who is not only affirming, but is also actively challenging the cisgender/heteronormative expectations of American society. In addition to being a member of the queer community and a fellow ADHD-er, she considers herself to be an ally to those who are BIPOC, in the kink/bdsm community, sex workers, and the vegan community. She fully believes that “ally” is an action-word and not just a title. Sam’s therapeutic style is queer/LGBTQ+ affirming, gender affirming, kink affirming, polyam/ENM/CNM affirming, neurodivergent affirming, and sex positive.
In her downtime, Sam enjoys traveling, gardening, and spending time in nature. She believes in supporting local businesses, and she tries to explore new stores, restaurants, and local events on her days off. Sam also has two Siamese-mix cats who may make an appearance via telehealth if she’s ever working from home.
Specialty
I specialize in working with gender, sexuality, the LGBTQIA+ community, those who are poly / non-monogamous (ENM / CNM), kinky people, and women’s specific issues. I enjoy working with women and non-binary folx struggling with low sexual desire or experiencing pain with sex. I treat co-occurring conditions such as anxiety disorders, depression and mood disorders, burn out, and substance abuse.
I enjoy working with individuals who are struggling to fully embrace and integrate all aspects of their identity into a cohesive sense of self. This includes intrapersonal aspects of identity, such as self-esteem, identity crises, loss of self, and life transitions. It also includes interpersonal aspects of identity, such as spirituality, culture, and role-based conflicts.
